The two set out on the quest that the dragoness had asked of
them. Ilyria was frightened out of her wits. The dragon was bad
enough, but... the Brightelves Forest! Aria knew as well as she
did that the name was used to deceive. The Brightelves Forest was
the darkest, the most overgrown, and the most laced with the evil
magics. No good elf in their right mind would go in there alone.
Two was a little safer, but not by much.
"Aria, do we have to go there? I'm sure there are other places we can get this plant." "No, Ilyria, there aren't. I know the forest like the back of my hand. There is not one place outide of the Brightelves Forest that valdora ferns can grow." Aria led them through the twists and turns of the forest with ease. Eventually, they came to the edge of Brightelves. It was like a curtain of darkness had been draped from high in the trees. Being this near to it made the two's skin crawl. "Looks like we're here. Once we step across, there's no turning back." "But what about all the Nagas, Dark Faeries, Minotaurs, Gorgons, and Hydras that are supposed to live in there?" asked Ilyria. "If they actually exist, I would risk that they are just the tip of the sapling. There have not been very many elves to return from exploring here. And she said that her magic would protect us, so let us be off!" And with that, Aria dragged Ilyria through the curtain with
