Aria slowly opened her eyes and looked around. She
was
lying by the pool. Ilyria was nowhere to be seen. Hastily, she got up
and
then realized it was nightfall. Aria shuddered. She was in Brightelves
Forest, alone and in the dark. She seriously doubted the dragon's
magic
could help now. She stood, uncertain, of what to do and where to go.
Suddenly, the pool beside her rippled and a head appeared from the
water.
It was the same nymph, but this time, Aria felt none of the obsession she had last time. She cried out, "What have you done to my sister?" The nymph smiled and another person appeared beside her, Ilyria. The little girl scrambled out of the water with some difficulty. "Aria!" She wrapped her sister in an watery embrace. "What happened?" Aria asked. Ilyria smiled. "I don't really remember, but they helped me. I don't feel bad anymore. There must be good magic in this place." Aria turned and looked at the blonde nymph. "Thank... thank you for helping my sister." The woman smiled. "My name is Tynre. We water beings sensed your sister's discomfort and lured you here so we could heal her," she said in a high, lilting voice. "What brought you two young elves here in the first place?" Aria and Ilyria told her of their quest. "Well, whenever you have need of help in water, call out the words, 'Water's magic, bear me,' and you shall receive help." Saying these words, Tynre dove back in the water and vanished from sight. "Thank you so much," Aria called, hoping she could hear. ***
Aria dreamed of a voice speaking softly but with great intensity. "Melkira?" mumbled Aria, "Is that you?" rolling over in her sleep she woke with a start as wetness engulfed her body. A harsh, sweet laugh sounded, "You won't get away from me that easily elf." |
