The Emerald Forests

The Emerald Forests of Mistyc are a wonder, even in the Realms. The name says it all: the forests are living, breathing forests which grow, produce new leaves, and even die...yet all the leaves are made from emerald. The place is an incredible mix of fantasy and magic, created one day on the whim of a master magician. The Forests also happen to be home to the Vinan Elves.

The Treasures of the Elves

Obviously, with such wealth around them as is in the Emerald forests, the Vivan elves get along well enough without any sort of monetary unit. They consider the Forests to be their main treasure, not simply because of the leaves, but also because it is the home which shelters them, the food which feeds them, and the clothing which covers them. They are protectors of the Forests, much as the Grishna are protectors of the River.

The Ceremonies of the Elves

The elves are a race more in tune to nature than dwarves, or gnomes, dragons, or trolls. They believe in the Earth Spirit Gaia, and are ready to die for her name. To honor her, they hold Ceremonies every time the season changes, with much feasting, dancing, and performances. The Spring Ceremony is the most anticipated event of the year, for that's when many young elven couples announce their intentions.
